A triple digit heat index is being predicted over the next several days.
Patricia Watson Adams Nurse-Practitioner with SSM Audrain says it is important to recognize the symptoms of heat exhaustion.
- Cool, moist skin with goose bumps when in the heat.
- Heavy sweating.
- Weak, rapid pulse.
- Low blood pressure upon standing.
- Muscle cramps.
Adams says it is important to stay hydrated with caffeine free beverages and if symptoms persist seek medical help.
