Accused Murderer Makes First Appearance In Court

A man accused of the murder of a teen girl in 1984 made his initial appearance in a Miller County Court yesterday. [Tuesday]

Martin Priest is charged with capital murder in the case of Tammy Rothganger.

Priest was allegedly the live-in boyfriend of Rothganger’s mother. She was allegedly last seen getting into a car with Priest and another man.

Her body has never been found.

Priest is currently serving a life sentence in Kansas for a another murder.

Prior to Rothganger’s disappearance, Priest had spent three years in prison on a second degree murder charge that was overturned for the death of Tonya Lewis.

Priest will be in court again on August 13.
