Highway Patrol Increases Enforcement For Holiday Weekend

The Missouri State Highway Patrol is increasing enforcement for Labor Day Weekend on the roads and water.

The holiday counting period begins at 6:00, and will end at 11:59 PM on Monday.

The Patrol reports troopers will be enforcing the speed limit, seat belt usage and impaired driving laws.

During the Labor Day holiday last year 11 people died and 265 were injured on the roadways.

On the water there were 10 injuries incurred in 10 boating crashes.

Troopers will be stationed approximately every 20 miles along major highways and interstates.
