National Fire Prevention Week

As part of National Fire Prevention week the Jefferson City Fire Department installed carbon monoxide detectors and checked smoke detectors for area residents yesterday (Wednesday).

Fire prevention week started in 1925 by President Calvin Coolidge and is the longest running public health observance in our country.

This year’s theme is “Look. Listen. Learn. Be aware. Fire can happen anywhere.”
