Paris Dollar General Burns

The Dollar General Store in Paris has been heavily damaged in a fire early yesterday [Sunday] morning.

The fire was reported around 2:45.


Firefighters from the Paris Rural Protection District spent several hours on the scene to ensure the blaze was extinguished.

Much of store and nearly all of the merchandise was a total loss.

The City of Paris is working to identify buildings that may be available to store equipment and host limited sales.

The State Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of the fire, but preliminary investigation reveals it was likely electrical in nature.
