One Injured In Four Crash In Mexico

Icy road conditions led to a multi-vehicle accident involving a semi on the Highway 54 bypass in Mexico at around 5:12 yesterday [Monday] afternoon.

According to Mexico Public Safety the accident happened when 53 year old Michael McCoy of Vandiver Village lost control near the bridge and slid into the lane of traffic occupied by 42 year old Charla Smith of Columbia, striking her vehicle causing both of them to lose control of their vehicles

Smith then hit a third vehicle, driven by 63 year old Susan Kleinsorge of Laddonia who was traveling behind McCoy.

A semi truck, driven by 52 year old David Waldron of Illinois, was behind Smith and also hit Kleinsorge’s vehicle after losing control caused by a partial impact with McCoy’s vehicle.

Kleinsorge was transported to SSM St. Mary’s Hospital Audrain for treatment of injuries sustained in the accident.
