Columbia Police have detained one person on suspicion of a robbery at the First Midwest Bank on Grindstone Parkway at around 2:30 yesterday [Friday] afternoon.
Police report an individual entered the bank and gave a note to the bank employee demanding money. He was given an undisclosed amount of cash and he left on foot.
A Boone County Deputy patrolling the area of Nifong and Rock Quarry Road located a person that matched the description of the suspect. A witness made a positive identification and the suspect was found with evidence of the robbery.
The name of the suspect has not been released at this time.
