Governor Mike Parson met with St. Louis Mayor Lyda Krewson, doctors and other health leaders today [Wednesday] to discuss ways to combat the opioid crisis, including a prescription drug monitoring program.
Parson said in a new conference that a drug monitoring program is a priority, citing Missouri’s status as the only state without one.
Parson hopes to have a bill on his desk by the end of next year’s legislative session.
Prescription drug monitoring programs allow doctors and pharmacists to track a patients prescription history.
