The list of search firms to find a new city manager in Columbia is narrowing.
According to Columbia Mayor Brian Treece the city council has ruled out 2 of the nine firms that were in consideration.
Treece said one firm was not very responsive and the other cost too much.
A closed-door session with city council members was held at city hall yesterday (Thursday) afternoon to review seven other search firms.
Former city manager Mike Matthes turned in his resignation on November 21st, 2018.
It is unclear when the city council will make their final decision on which search firm to work with.
