The murder trial for a man accused of the fatal shooting of Leon Wilder III in Audrain County in July of 2017 has been postponed.
According to court records, Richard Henry’s first degree murder trial was originally scheduled to be heard beginning January 14.
Henry’s attorney filed for a continuance of the case, and it will be now be heard in Warren County on May 20.
Henry was arrested after Wilder’s body was found with a gunshot to the head on Audrain County Road 997 near Centralia. Investigators arrested Henry after they found blood in his pick up, along with the front seat missing. Additionally, a seatbelt buckle from the vehicle was allegedly found near Wilder’s body.
