Two people were arrested in the 12 thousand block of Bethlehem Road in Boone County yesterday afternoon [Friday] after deputies conducted a welfare check for several small children.
According to the Boone County Sheriff’s Office, law enforcement was dispatched at 3:45 to the home and made contact with 30 year old Johnna Vargas and 32 year old Gilberto Hurtado, both of Harrisburg.
Investigation revealed various narcotics, marijuana and over 75 grams of methamphetamine, all packaged for sale. Additionally, drug delivery device as well as a handgun were located. All of the items were allegedly easily accessible to the four small children living in the home.
Vargas and Hurtado were arrested on suspicion of numerous charges including drug trafficking and 4 counts of endangering the welfare of a child.
Hurtado is additionally charged with unlawful possession of a firearm.
