Parents in area school districts are being warned about a social media hoax that could be potentially harmful to students.
Mexico Public Schools Director of Communications Marci Minor says the most recent hoax is called the MOMO Challenge.
YouTube has sent out a statement verifying that the MOMO challenge is a hoax and is encouraging parents to monitor their child’s social media use and even put parental controls on it.
