Highway Patrol Seeking Information On I-70 Murder

Three months to the day after the murder of a South Dakota woman along Interstate 70 in Cooper County, the Missouri State Highway Patrol is asking for information that could lead to solving the crime.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol responded to the 96 mile marker in Cooper County on December 13 for a car crash and discovered 40 year old Melissa Peskey had died from a gunshot that came from outside her vehicle.

Peskey was traveling with her two children ages 5 and 11. They were uninjured.

Sergeant Scott White with the Highway Patrol reports investigators have received 140 leads in the case.
