The Missouri Department of Revenue Director Joel Walters will reportedly resign this (Friday) morning.
The resignation comes after criticism for his handling of state tax funds.
Walters told the House Special Committee on Government Oversight earlier this month that the revenue issue was a cause from the federal tax cuts and a miscalculation of the state’s withholding tables.
According to Democrat Representative Kip Kendrick of Columbia, Missouri is hundreds of millions of dollars behind schedule in revenue collection.
Walters has been in his position since April of 2017 when he was appointed by then Governor Eric Greitens.
