The investigation into the many aspects of the tornado that tore through Jefferson City last night is ongoing, [Wednesday] but the National Weather Service has issued a preliminary damage survey.
The maximum rating for the storm is the storm was an EF-3 with winds of 160 miles per hour.
The Enhanced Fujita Scale measures the power of a tornado by wind speed. An Ef-3 storm will carry wind speeds of 136 to 165 miles per hour and will cause severe damage to buildings, trees and infrastructure in it’s path.
The NWS says there are no confirmed fatalities and the number of injuries is still unclear at this time.
