The Royals took game one 8-2.
All of the offense came during a six run third inning capped off by a three run homer by Jorge Soler.
The Cardinals bounced back in game 2 with a 10-3 victory.
Marcel Ozuna delivered a three run bomb.
Matt Carpenter, Dexter Fowler and Kolten Wong also joined in with round trippers.
