Columbia Police Release Report On Crash Involving Cruiser

The Columbia Police Department released their initial investigation report today [Thursday] for a serious injury crash involving a Columbia Police Cruiser on June 4.

According to the report, 25 year old Skyler Dingwell of Centralia was traveling south on a motorcycle on Brown Station Road near Leeway drive when he attempted to pass an uninvolved vehicle on the left in a no-passing zone.

The marked police vehicle, driven by 26 year old Brandon Baden, was heading north.

Dingwell then crashed head-on into the police car.

Speed and driving actions of Dingwell are believed to be contributing factors in the crash. Other factors are still under investigation.
