The St. Louis Cardinals lost 3-1 to the San Diego Padres on the road last (Friday) night.
The Redbirds ended a streak of 19 scoreless innings however still struggled and lost a major piece to their offense when Marcell Ozuna exited the game in the third inning with a right hand injury.
Ozuna will be out of the lineup until after the All-Star break.
The Cardinals now sit at 40-40 one game before the halfway point of their season.

Kansas City’s Alex Gordon had a good night at the plate logging three hits with a double and RBI, and Martin Maldonado hit his 4th home run of the year.
