Mikolas pitched a complete game shutout.

The Redbirds have now won three in a row and took over second place in the National League Central.

Royals starting pitcher Jakob Junis struck out a career high 10 batters.
In other Royals news a trade was made yesterday (Monday) with Chicago Cubs that sees Kansas City sending catcher Martin Maldonado straight up for left handed pitcher Mike Montgomery.
This will be Montgomery’s second stint with the Royals and he is expected to go into the rotation starting on Friday.
