Sturgeon Man Formally Charged Given $100 Thousand Bond In Crash

A Sturgeon man was formally charged today with three counts of reckless homicide and one count of reckless operation of a vehicle in a highway work zone in Indiana today. [Thursday]

Bruce Pollard is accused of speeding in a work zone causing a crash that killed 29 year old Alanna Koons and her 18-month-old twin daughters, June and Ruby.

Computer data from the truck show it was going 65 miles per hour in a 45 mile per hour work zone and did not begin braking until it hit the first of several cars slowed in traffic.

Pollard’s bond has been set at $100 thousand and a jury trial has been scheduled for October 28.
