KXEO Sports Report For 8/6/19

It was a scary day on the practice field for the Missouri Tigers Football team yesterday (Monday) morning.
Within minutes of each other quarterback Kelly Bryant and tight end Albert Okweubunam went down with injuries and were carted off the field for further testing.

Head Coach Barry Odom told reporters the initial diagnosis for Bryant was a hamstring strain, and for Albert O a knee sprain.
The severity of the either injury was unknown, although Coach Odom did not seem too worried they would miss extensive time.
Another starter, Defensive tackle Jordan Elliott also left practice because of a possible head injury.
The Tigers will have 13 more practices before their season opener, August 31st at Wyoming.

The St. Louis Cardinals shut out 8-0 by the Los Angeles Dodgers on the road last (Monday) night.
Micheal Wacha with an unsuccessful return to the Cardinals starting rotation.
He was roughed up and made through just 3 and 2/3 innings giving up six runs and seven hits.
The Redbirds lost ground falling 2 and 1/2 games behind the Chicago Cubs in the National League Central.

The Kansas City Royals with a 7-5 loss to the Boston Red Sox.
In his best start since the all star break, Royals starting pitcher Mike Montgomery allowed four runs, seven hits with one walk.
Kansas City has now lost 7 in a row.
