Sexual Assault Kit Testing Nearing Completion
Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt announced the new inventory completion percentages for sex assault testing kits in the state today.
According to a release, as of the end of July 95.6 percent of law enforcement agencies in the state have completed their inventory, while 98.5 percent of hospitals have completed theirs.
The testing is part of Schmitt’s SAFE Kits Initiative aimed at addressing the backlog of untested sexual assault kits.
The push to complete the testing began on February 27.
