A manufacturing plant in Mexico will be permanently closing their doors in the first quarter of 2020.
According to a release, Teva Pharmaceuticals will be closing in an effort to optimize the efficiency of their global operations.
Teva reports approximately 47 jobs will be impacted by the closure, and displaced employees will be offered fair and competitive separation benefits as well as access to outplacement services.
The Mexico plant produces active pharmaceutical ingredients used in antibiotics.
As a corporation, Teva has not been without legal issues in 2019.
In May, Teva was one of 19 drug companies sued for allegedly price fixing drug costs in an agreement with competitors.
Also in May, the company agreed to pay $85 million to the State of Oklahoma to settle an opioid over prescription lawsuit, and in July Teva had to pay $69 million to settle pay-for-delay claims in the State of California.
