Deputies in Montgomery County were instrumental in helping a horse in distress this morning. [Thursday]
According the Sheriff’s office, deputies were dispatched to the New Florence area when the horse became hung up inside a trailer. Deputies learned the horse had somehow straddled a divider and was stuck.
Through the teamwork of deputies, New Florence Fire, local residents and Dr. Steele of Middletown Vet Clinic, a makeshift pulley system was constructed inside the trailer, allowing crews to cut the divider supporting the horse’s weight.
