Dig In Columbia Landfill Comes To An End

The Columbia Police Department and the Solid Waste Utility have ended the exploratory dig in relation to the 2006 disappearance of Megan Schultz.

On September 18, crew found human remains in an area they were examining.

DNA testing is still pending.

Police report no further evidence has been located in the areas of the landfill determined to have been used at the time of her disappearance.

Schltz went missing 13 years ago. Her husband, Keith Comfort, implicated himself in her murder to police in Wisconsin.

He reported he put her body in a garbage bag and dumped it in a trash bin.

Comfort is charged with second degree murder in Boone County.
