Mexico School Board Work Session
At the Mexico Board of Education meeting Tuesday three vendors presented turf products that would be used on the football, baseball and soccer fields.
The first group to talk to the board was Byrne & Jones. The company has competed over 350 field projects. They are the only company that goes through multiple turf manufacturers to complete their work. They have put turf on the fields at Chaminade and Moberly.
The second was Mid-America Sports Construction. They report their design and build is all done in-house. They represent AstroTurf products. They told the board the most important thing to complete as early as possible is moving dirt for the improvements.
The last group was ATG Sports. They manufacture their own turf they call RamTurf. They are responsible for the turf fields are South Callaway, Monroe City, and Macon. They laid Hermann’s turf field nearly 15 years ago and it has not needed to be replaced.
Superintendent Dr. Zach Templeton told the board he hopes the project can mover forward at their regular meeting in a couple weeks.
