The Mexico Bulldogs boys and girls basketball teams split a doubleheader with the Marshall Owls at the Mexico High School tonight.

The Mexico girls lost a close game 40-38.
The Lady Dawgs would trail 20-10 at halftime.
Mexico would close the deficit to 2 points in the final seconds of the 4th quarter, however were unable to complete the comeback.
Reghan Smith led the Mexico with 11 points followed by Mya Miller with 8 and Taylor Sherrow with 6.
The Bulldogs fell to 1-1 on the season.

The Mexico Bulldogs boys would come out firing on all cylinders and won 66-35 over the Marshall boys.
The Bulldogs defense was stingy all night.
They held the Owls to 12 points in the 1st, 9 in the 2nd, 8 in the third and just 6 in the 4th.
Isiah Reams led Mexico with 18 points. Raef Yager had 17. Ty Prince and Drew Blevins had 9 points each.
And Zach Watkins finished with 6 points.
Ty Prince was nominated as the defender of the game by the coaching staff, as he held Marshall leading scorer Jace Lance to 20 points.
Mexico boys evened their record to 1-1 on the season and are 1-0 in the NCMC.
