New Federal Law Raises Legal Buying Age For Tobacco Products

A new federal law is now in place that is raising the buying age for tobacco products to 21.

Last week President Donald Trump signed a large spending bill that prohibits selling tobacco products to anyone under 21 years of age.

According to the Food and Drug Administration’s website, the president signed legislation to amend the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, and raise the federal minimum age of 18 to 21 for the sale of cigarettes, cigars, and e-cigarettes.
