The St. Louis Cardinals are trying to figure out who may be the next man up on the pitching staff after Miles Mikolas was scratched from a bullpen session on Saturday.
Mikolas’ flexor tendon issue in his right forearm will shut him down from throwing for probably several days and it is possible he may not be ready for the start of the season on March 26th.
With Mikolas potentially out for awhile several pitchers slated to get a couple of starts in spring training are Ryan Helsley, who pitched strictly in relief last season after coming up from Class AAA Memphis. And Daniel Ponce de Leon.
The St. Louis Blues host the New Jersey Devils tonight.
St. Louis will try to break a 5 game losing streak.
