More Schools Closings Announced Amidst COVID-19 Outbreak

A number of Missouri schools are closing in an effort to halt or slow the spread of COVID-19.

The Mexico School District will close this Friday, March 20th and be back in session after April 14th.

The Moberly Public Schools will be out tomorrow (Wednesday) March 18th and will be out through April 3rd.

Centralia Public Schools will suspend classes starting tomorrow (Wednesday) until April 3rd.

Columbia Public Schools will close Wednesday and will resume classes on April 13, Jefferson City Public Schools will also close Wednesday and will tentatively resume on April 6.

All Pike County schools are closed now and will tentatively start back on April 6.

Hannibal Public Schools will close today (Tuesday) and will be out of session until at least April 6.

The Sturgeon R-V School District will have a half day today (Tuesday) and will dismiss at 12:30 and will remain closed until April 3rd.

The Fulton Public Schools will close starting tomorrow (Wednesday) and classes will resume on April 6th.

Sports practices and events are also canceled while school is out.

William Woods University is canceling spring commencement ceremonies, originally scheduled for Saturday, April 25th and an alternate way of honoring seniors is being planned.
