Mexico City Council Practices Social Distancing During Monday Nights Meeting

The Mexico City Council with 4 council members in attendance at tonight’s (Monday) meeting.

The council and people attending practiced social distancing with spaced chairs and keeping 6 feet away from one another.

The council approved an ordinance rezoning 814 East Promenade in the City of Mexico  to general commercial district.

City Manager Bruce Slagle also addressed the meeting and updated the city’s response to COVID-19.

Slagle said the city is acting on facts and public safety and public health as the first priority.

The city does not plan on issuing any orders on closing businesses.

All city out of state travel has been stopped, and all department directors have reviewed their emergency actions plans.

Municipal court has also been suspended.
