The NCAA is granting an extra year of eligibility for all spring sport student-athletes.

The Division 1 Council voted on the measure yesterday (Monday) after the athletes had their seasons cut short due to COVID-19.

The NCAA said in a release that financial aid rules have been adjusted, so teams are able to have more scholarships in order to account for incoming freshman and current student-athletes who decide to stay.

The NCAA also decided yesterday that winter student-athletes will not be granted another year of eligibility.
