The Mexico School District is reacting to the announcement by Governor Parson to close schools for the remainder of the academic year.
According to the district they were just as surprised at the announcement as parents and communities are.
The district says they are trying to determine and adjust plans moving forward for continued at-home learning, food services, and end-of-year activities from commencement to students cleaning out lockers.
Summer school plans will be determined upon guidance from DESE and state agencies.
The district says it will take some time to determine these things and ask for continued patience and support of the students, parents and community.
