KXEO Sports Report For 4/28/20

dustin colquitt kc chiefs punter

Dustin Colquitt is announcing after 15 years as the Kansas City Chiefs punter he is leaving the team.

Colquitt said in a post on Instagram yesterday he has enjoyed his time in Chiefs Kingdom, and all things must come to an end, sometimes sooner than you hoped, prayed and pleaded for them to.

His words suggest that he was released, not retiring.

With pending contract renewals coming for Patrick Mahomes and possibly Chris Jones as well, Kansas City will need to free up as much cap room as possible.

Colquitt was set to make 2.65 million dollars in 2020 by releasing him the team saves 2 million in cap room.

Missouri transfer Tray Jackson plans to suit up for Seton Hall next season.

Jackson verbally committed to Seton Hall yesterday on his Twitter page.

The 6’8 combo forward appeared in 26 games last year for Mizzou during his freshman year and averaged 2.9 points and 1.8 rebounds.

He will sit the upcoming season unless a waiver is granted and then have 3 years of eligibility.
