Mexico Public Schools is addressing the online petitions regarding changing or leaving intact the name of the Mexico High Dixie Gray Marching Band.
In a statement from the District, they say they are aware of the two petitions circulating on social media.
The release goes on to state “Our mission is teaching, learning, caring. We expect everyone in our district to respect one another, with an emphasis on equality, understanding, and compassion. Mexico High values the diversity of our student population…”
