Mexico Public Safety Responds To Fire Related Call At Home On East Love

No injuries reported after Mexico Public Safety responded to a call yesterday (Wednesday) at a house with a report of smoke in the attic.

Public Safety went to the call around 1:44 yesterday (Wednesday) afternoon in the 800 block of East Love.

Responding personnel say they found that some older wiring had become too hot, burning some of the insulation around it.

The resident said they heard what sounded like a nearby lightning strike and the home’s electricity fluctuating as a storm moved through the Mexico area earlier in the day.

The burned insulation was removed and the area was made safe until an electrician could repair the wiring.
