A Missouri House of Representatives member from Hallsville wins appeal in a 2018 case involving Twitter.
Representative Cheri Toalson Reisch blocked Centralia resident Mike Campbell after he was critical of one of her tweets.
In 2019 a judge ruled in favor of Campbell saying his exclusion from Reisch’s account was inconsistent with the First Amendment.
Wednesday’s ruling by an Eighth Circuit judge states that “Reisch’s own First Amendment right to craft her campaign materials necessarily trumps Campbell’s desire to convey a message on her Twitter page that she does not wish to convey.”
Reisch, a Republican, was elected to the House in 2016 and serves district 44.
