Dog Shot Incident Investigation Turned Over To Audrain County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office

 

An investigation is being forwarded to the Audrain County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office after Mexico Public Safety responded to an incident where a dog was shot.

According to the department it happened Friday around 5:25pm at Fairsite Drive.

Responding personnel learned that a dog had escaped its enclosure earlier in the day and was running loose.

Public Safety says that a neighbor shot the dog with a pellet gun because it was in the neighbor’s yard.

The dog was treated at the Mexico Animal Hospital and is back home.

The Audrain County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office will now decide on appropriate charges.
