Central and northeast Missouri residents are cleaning up this morning after storms rolled through last (Friday) night and early this (Saturday) morning.
In Madison, a large tree was down near the Dollar General store, blocking Highway 24 last night.
A large tree and limbs were down on Central Street in Mexico according to Mexico Public Safety and as a result, the 100 block of West Central and the 800 block of South Jefferson were closed while Ameren crews worked to restore power to central parts of Mexico.
In Paris, rain and strong winds played havoc with the Mark Twain Old Threshers celebration, forcing them to cancel the car show and draft horse games scheduled for today.
At 1:00 this morning, Ameren’s outage map showed 1,189 customers without power in Mexico, while Consolidated Electric was reporting 202 customers without power.
By 5:00, those numbers were down to 303 and 90 respectively.
