Mexico residents will be seeing a 3% increase on their sewer bill starting in October.
The Mexico City Council voted to raise the rates following a public hearing at last (Monday) nights council meeting.
The monthly sewer bill based on usage of 5,000 gallons per month will go from $43.24 to $44.54.
The rate adjustments are due to daily operations and maintenance of equipment, along with cash funded capital outlays, debt service obligations and repair, renewal and replacement reserves according to the City of Mexico.
The increase will start on the October monthly bill.
