The Mexico Bulldogs secured a number one seed in their District bracket after defeating the Warrenton Warriors 60-14 tonight on the road.
The Bulldogs offense would score on their first possession of the game.
Mexico would need just 2 plays to go 69 yards capped off by an Anthony Shivers 13 yard touchdown run.
It was 7-0 Mexico at the 10 minute 11 second mark of the first quarter.
The Bulldogs would turn the ball over on their second possession.
Warrenton would take advantage getting the ball on the 32 yard line, and scoring on a 20 yard pass play.
The Warriors were unable to convert the 2 point conversion.
And Mexico led 7-6 at the 5:49 mark in the first quarter.
After that it was all Bulldogs.
Michael White would score on a 9 yard run at 11:52 in the 2nd quarter and it was 14-6 Bulldogs.
Ty Sims kept the ball and scored on a 37 yard quarterback keep.
It was 20-6 Mexico.
Michael White would then score his 2nd touchdown of the game on a 30 yard rush into the end zone at 6:57 in the 2nd quarter.
It was 27-6 Bulldogs.
Warrenton would put points on the board with one minute and 4 seconds left in the 2nd quarter on a 1 yard quarterback keep.
And it was 27-14 Mexico.
The Bulldogs would score again before halftime, when Michael White scored his third touchdown of the game on a 17 yard rush into the end zone with just 33 seconds left in the second quarter.
Mexico would take a 34-14 lead into halftime.
The Bulldogs ramped up on offense once again in the second half.
Anthony Shivers would get his second td of the game at 9:40 in the 3rd quarter on a 5 yard rushing touchdown.
Mexico extended their lead over Warrenton 40-14.
Ty Sims scored his second rushing touchdown of the game on a 12 yard quarter back keep at 6:41 in the third quarter.
The Bulldogs were up 41-14.
Andrew Runge made it 53-14 Mexico at the 4:54 mark in the third quarter on a 7 yard rushing score.
And the final score of the game was provided by the Bulldogs defense when Michael White intercepted the ball and ran it 65 yards for a pick six.
Andrew Runge and Matt McCurdy also had interceptions for the Bulldogs.
Mexico’s defense held Warrenton scoreless in the 2nd half.
Mexico will have a bye week coming up and a home game upcoming in the 2nd round of Districts on Friday, November 5th against an opponent to be determined.
