Mexico High School senior forward Mya Miller has been playing basketball for a long time and joined an elite group of players on Wednesday night when she scored her 1,000th career point.

The milestone came during the Lady Bulldogs game against the Kirksville Lady Tigers in the 2nd round of the Macon Tournament.

Mya has been playing basketball since she was 4 years old and talks about her accomplishment.

Mya has a nickname given to her by KXEO broadcaster Michael Daugherty. She is known as the “microwave” because she is always heating up. Miller put up 37 points during a home game against Kirksville last season and still has goals to achieve before she goes to play at Columbia College next season.

Mya is the daughter of Steve and Abbie Miller. She and the Mexico Lady Bulldogs are off to a great start this season winning the Montgomery County Tournament and currently have a record of 10-3.
