No injuries being reported following a grass fire at Meadowlake Drive in Mexico last (Wednesday) night.
Mexico Public Safety responded to the call and found the back yard of a home burning with the fire approaching a tree line.
The fire was put out and there was no damage to any buildings or personal property.
The homeowner stated he was burning brush in a fire pit, however stepped away for a short time, and when he realized the fire had spread beyond the pit, it was growing too large for him to extinguish with the water source he had available.
There were no injuries reported.
