Cases Heard In Callaway County Court Monday March 7th

The following cases were heard on March 7, 2022, in the Circuit Court of Callaway County, Missouri, Division II, Honorable Jeff Harris presiding:

James Christopher Adams, 33, of Fulton, was sentenced to 4 years in prison for possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine).  Adams had been on probation for the offense, admitted violating probation, and the judge revoked it.  The case was originally investigated by the Callaway County Sheriff’s Office.

Justin Scott Bockhoff, 29, of St. Louis, was sentenced to 4 years in prison for possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine).  Bockhoff had been on probation for the offense, admitted violating probation, and the judge revoked it.  The judge recommended that Bockhoff complete a substance abuse treatment program within the Department of Corrections before being considered for release.  The case was originally investigated by the Callaway County Sheriff’s Office.

Mario Laphonse Crump, 55, of Fulton, pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) with intent to deliver and possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine – three counts). Crump admitted that he possessed the drug in two separate incidents in 2018, another incident in May 2020, and a fourth incident in December 2021.  On each occasion, the drugs were located in Crump’s home during execution of a search warrant.  The judge sentenced Crump to 5 years in prison on the charge of possession with intent to deliver and 4 years in prison on each of the charges of possession of a controlled substance.  The judge recommended that Crump complete a substance abuse treatment program within the Department of Corrections before being considered for release.  The cases were investigated by the Callaway County Sheriff’s Office, Fulton Police Department and MUSTANG Drug Task Force.

Anh Van Dinh, 21, of Seattle, Washington, pleaded guilty to delivery of a controlled substance (marijuana).  Dinh acknowledged that she possessed approximately 100 pounds of marijuana during a traffic stop in March 2021.  Dinh was stopped for a traffic offense on Interstate 70 by a trooper.  In the course of the stop, a K-9 officer from the Callaway County Sheriff’s Office conducted a sniff of the vehicle and alerted.  A search revealed 99 vacuum-sealed packages, weighing just over one pound each, in two duffle bags in the vehicle.  The judge sentenced Dinh to 7 years in prison but suspended execution of that sentence and placed her on five years of supervised probation.  The case was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and the Callaway County Sheriff’s Office.

Richard Allen Hill, 62, of Jefferson City, pleaded guilty to driving while intoxicated (4th offense).  Hill acknowledged that he was operating a vehicle on State Route F in April 2021 while he was under the influence of alcohol.  Hill was involved in a single-vehicle crash in which he left the roadway, drove into a ditch and struck a utility pole.  A passerby discovered the crashed vehicle and alerted authorities.  A trooper responded and made contact with Hill who acknowledged driving the vehicle and that he had been drinking.  The offense was enhanced to a felony based on Hill’s previous convictions for DWI in 1988 and 1990 (Audrain County) and 1992 (Cooper County).  The judge sentenced Hill to 7 years in prison but suspended execution of the sentence and placed him on five years of supervised probation under several conditions, including that he serve 60 days shock detention in the county jail and, upon release, successfully complete the Callaway County DWI Court program.  The case was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Keith Aaron Lancaster, 37, of Auxvasse, was sentenced to 7 years in prison for driving while intoxicated (4th offense) and driving while revoked (4th offense).  Lancaster had been on probation for both offenses, admitted violating probation, and the judge revoked it.  The judge recommended that Lancaster complete the long-term substance abuse treatment program within the Department of Corrections before being considered for release.  The cases were originally investigated by the Callaway County Sheriff’s Office.

Paula Adelle Martinez, 29, of Fulton, pleaded guilty to delivery of a controlled substance (methamphetamine).  Martinez admitted that she possessed the drug, with the intent to deliver it, in November 2021.  The drugs were found in a vehicle in which Martinez was a passenger, as well as her residence, during execution of a search warrant.  The judge sentenced Martinez to 7 years in prison concurrently with a prison sentence she was currently serving, and recommended that she successfully complete a substance abuse treatment program within the Department of Corrections before being considered for release.  The case was investigated by the Callaway County Sheriff’s Office.

Morris Tyrone Neal, Jr., 37, of Fulton, pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine).  The drug was discovered in Neal’s residence in October 2019 during an eviction.  The judge sentenced Neal to 5 years in prison to be served concurrently with a prison sentence he was currently serving.  The case was investigated by the Fulton Police Department and Callaway County Sheriff’s Office.

Christy Leann Schroer, 31, of Fulton, pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine – two counts).  Schroer admitted that she possessed the drug in November 2021 when she was stopped for having no license plate on her vehicle.  A K-9 officer alerted on the vehicle and a search revealed two syringes loaded with methamphetamine and other drug paraphernalia.  Schroer also admitted that she possessed the drug in January 2022.  On that occasion, the drug was discovered on the floor of the booking room at the Callaway County Jail when Schroer was changing clothes. In both cases the judge placed Schroer on five years of supervised probation under several conditions, including that she successfully complete the Callaway County Treatment Court program if deemed eligible.  Both cases were investigated by the Callaway County Sheriff’s Office.

Kirk Strube, 37, of Fulton, pleaded guilty to the felony offense of stalking in the first degree and the misdemeanor offense of sexual abuse in the second degree.  Strube admitted that he touched the genitals of the female victim in September 2018 without her consent.  Strube also admitted that he engaged in a patter of conduct throughout the month of October 2018 to purposely cause emotional distress to the same female victim by repeated contacting her, being in close proximity to her residence and making contact with her at public businesses, and that all of this conduct occurred after the victim had obtained an order of protection against him in September 2018.  The judge sentenced Strube to 4 years in prison for the felony stalking charge and 1 year in jail for the misdemeanor sexual abuse charge.  Pursuant to a plea agreement made with the victim’s consent, the judge suspended execution of the sentences and placed Strube on five years of supervised probation under several conditions.  In addition, Strube must register with the Sheriff’s Office as a sex offender.  The case was investigated by the Callaway County Sheriff’s Office.

Joseph Michael Underwood, 30, of Fulton, pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), resisting a lawful stop and assault in the second degree.  Underwood admitted that he engaged in a high-speed pursuit with a deputy sheriff in March 2021 after the deputy attempted to stop him for a traffic offense.  Underwood traveled at high speeds over several snow-covered county and state roads before crashing his vehicle into a tree, recklessly causing physical injuries to the passenger.  Deputies were able to extinguish a fire in the vehicle and pull Underwood and his passenger from the wreckage.  The passenger in the vehicle suffered moderate injuries including two broken bones.  During the investigation, deputies located two glass vials in the vehicle that contained liquid that tested positive for methamphetamine.  The judge sentenced Underwood to 6 years in prison for the drug and assault charges and 4 years in prison for the charge of resisting a lawful stop.  The case was investigated by the Callaway County Sheriff’s Office.

Britney Valentine Williams, 32, of Fulton, pleaded guilty to endangering the welfare of a child in the first degree.  Williams admitted that she struck the 11 year-old boy in February 2020 while she was under the influence of methamphetamine.  A relative of the child reported the incident after the child was found to have a bruise on his leg.  The child reported that Williams had intentionally stepped on his leg, causing the bruise, and that she had also struck him in the head.  The judge placed Williams on five years of supervised probation under several conditions, including that Williams continue to follow her substance abuse treatment plan.  The case was investigated by the Callaway County Sheriff’s Office, in conjunction with the Missouri Department of Social Services – Children’s Division, and assistance from the Rainbow House Child Advocacy Center.
