Familiar Name Returns to South Shelby

A familiar name has resurfaced at South Shelby High School. The Cardinals announced that Kent O’Laughlin will take over its boys basketball program. O’Laughlin replaces Dalton Armontrout, who resigned after two seasons.  O’Laughlin returns to his alma mater, with 26 years of experience at six area schools, including Mexico, Palmyra, Marceline, and South Shelby where he guided programs for 11 years. O’Laughlin owns 278 girls basketball wins in 14 years and 115 boys victories over seven seasons

O’Laughlin last served as Marceline’s athletic director, football coach, and boys and girls basketball coach in 2015-16.
