Governor Mike Parson was in Mexico this (Wednesday) afternoon to speak at the ribbon cutting for the Veterinary Technology Program at the Moberly Area Community College.
The first classes for the vet program started in August, 2021 with 17 students enrolled.
Stephanie Gilliam is the director. The program is a hybrid with lectures online and labs in person at the Mexico campus. They have partnered with Mexico Animal Shelter to provide spaying and neutering for the animals at the shelter. The new vet program has also partnered with the MU College of Vet.
