Mexico Wrestling Unleashing DeacNasty To Iowa Western

One of Mexico High School’s top wrestlers is headed to Iowa Western.

Deacon Haag signed his National Letter of Intent to wrestle at the college level this afternoon at the Mexico High School Sports Complex.

 

The man nicknamed DeacNasty made it to the quarterfinals in the State Wrestling Tournament in 2021.

Deacon was ranked 4th in the State rankings this year.

He was also a star on the football field providing some timely sacks and bone crunching tackles for Mexico throughout his high school playing career.

Deacon will join his fellow Mexico wrestling teammate Ricky Juarez at Iowa Western and shares his thoughts as to we he chose the school.

This is a record breaking year for Mexico Wrestling Head Coach Gayle Adams for sending his athletes on to the next level.

In 10 years of being the head coach he has sent 18 to college 20 total in all his years of coaching 7 are wrestling in college next year Terrese Aaron and Dillon Nichols at NIU Terrell Williams Warrensburg CMU Keith Ransom Cleveland State Jokiah Sewell William Jewell Ricardo Juarez and Deacon Haag Iowa Western.
