Mexico Parents Pack Room At Mexico School Board Meeting

An unusually large crowd filled the seats at the Mexico Board of Education meeting tonight (Tuesday) at Central Office.

Two parents in the district were added to the agenda to address the policy pertaining to patrons speaking at meetings and bullying in the district.

The Mexico School District recently placed a Eugene Field Elementary School teacher on paid administrative leave due to an incident that happened during the last week of April, where a student at the school reported being hit with a bag of dodge balls by the PE teacher.

The incident was reported to Children’s Division Out of Home Investigation and Mexico Public Safety.

Audrain County Prosecuting Attorney Jacob Shellabarger is reviewing the case.

KXEO news reached out to several school board members who did not want to comment about tonight’s meeting.
