Albert Pujols added another chapter to his storybook career as a Cardinal with a sacrifice fly that plated Tommy Edman in the 10th to give the Redbirds the victory.
The walk-off winner was Pujols 15th as a Cardinal, moving him past Ken Boyer for second place in franchise history.
The Cardinals go for the series sweep over the Padres this afternoon at 12:15.
The Kansas City Royals lost 8-3 to the Cleveland Guardians on the road last (Tuesday) night.
The loss leaves Kansas City with the worst record in baseball at 16-32 as the calendar flips to June.
