Mexico Public Safety Department Calls For Service 6/20/22

 

ARRESTS:

Mexico Public Safety reports the arrest of 44 year old Michael D. Benton on Friday for a Fayette, Tennessee warrant.

30 year old Drake L. Shannon was arrested on Saturday for three Audrain County warrants.

27 year old Jared J. Hoard was arrested yesterday (Sunday) for a violation of an order of protection.

CALLS FOR SERVICE:

Mexico Public Safety responded to the following calls for service over the weekend starting on Friday, June 17th:

An assault with no injury on South Missouri.

A railroad crossing problem at South Morris/Monroe.

A stealing or theft at Plunkett Park and Lakeview Road.

Vandalism on Latney.

Public Safety responded to the following calls for service on Saturday:

A peace disturbance at Garfield Park.

Trespassing on North Washington.

A fight in progress at West Street and on North Washington.

Mexico Public Safety responded to these calls for service yesterday (Sunday):

A careless and imprudent driver at Wilmar.

An assault with no injury on West Jackson.

Threats at Breckenridge.

Property damage on Cherry.

CAR ACCIDENTS:

Mexico Public Safety Department reports a two car accident at 707 West Monroe on Friday at 5:04pm. According to the accident report it happened as a vehicle driven by 96 year old Helen M. Maddox of Mexico started to change lanes and hit the passenger side of another vehicle. The driver of the second vehicle who is unknown lost control and hit a curb, going airborne and striking a utility pole and came to rest in the Pizza Hut parking lot. The unknown driver exited and fled on foot northbound on Wade and then went eastbound on Love. No injuries were reported.

A two car accident on Friday at 3:17pm on East Liberty and Highway 54. According to the accident report it happened as a vehicle driven by 20 year old Carter W. Tate of Columbia moved forward and hit the rear passenger side of a vehicle driven by 33 year old Crystal A. Griffin of Jonesboro Craighead, Arkansas. No injuries were reported.

 

A one car accident on Green Boulevard on Saturday at 10:15pm. According to the accident report it happened as a vehicle driven by 19 year old Caitlyn G. Long of Mexico was traveling on Green Boulevard and said another vehicle was close beside. Long turned left and lost control, running off the roadway and hitting a light pole and fencing. No injuries were reported.

 

A one car accident at Sonic on Friday at 10:29pm. According to the accident report it happened a vehicle was at Sonic and attempted to leave the food stall by backing out. The vehicle hit the neighboring stall and proceeded forward forward and left the the parking lot. The driver is described as a white man, while the vehicle is described as a early 2000’s model silver van. The food stall at Sonic had moderate damage.
